Medical Weight Loss on the Upper East Side

Physician Supervised Weight Loss on the Upper East Side

Satjit Bhusri, MD, provides physician-supervised weight management designed around your medical history, cardiovascular health, lifestyle, and individual goals. Your plan may combine nutrition and activity recommendations, behavioral and lifestyle changes, prescription weight-loss medication when medically appropriate, and continued monitoring to help you work toward healthier, sustainable results.

Why choose Dr. Bhusri for Weight Loss Management?

Medical weight loss is a physician-guided approach to weight management that considers your overall health rather than focusing on weight alone.Dr. Bhusri begins by learning about your weight history, current medications, previous approaches to weight loss, lifestyle, medical conditions, and goals. He also considers factors that can influence both weight and cardiometabolic health, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and cardiovascular risk.

From there, he develops an individualized plan that include:
• A comprehensive medical evaluation • Nutrition and heart-healthy eating guidance • Physical activity recommendations • Strategies for sustainable lifestyle change • Prescription weight-loss medication when appropriate • Monitoring of your weight and overall health Prescription medication is only one possible component of medical weight management. The goal is to find an approach that makes sense for your health, preferences, and long-term needs.

Are Weight-Loss Medications Part of Treatment?

They can be.Several prescription medications are FDA-approved for long-term weight management, and medication may be appropriate when lifestyle changes alone have not produced sufficient results.

Dr. Bhusri reviews your medical history, medications, cardiovascular risk, weight history, and treatment goals before determining whether prescription treatment should be part of your plan. Some patients may be candidates for GLP-1 or related medications. Others may benefit from a different strategy.

Can medical weight loss help with heart health? Weight management can influence several cardiovascular risk factors, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. Your program at Upper East Side Cardiology considers these factors as part of your overall treatment.
